I wanted to create a painting that would show my dedication to seeing my body as a temple for growth and a commitment to healthy living and practice of yoga to support that growth. At that time I was going through some health challenges and decided to take two weeks off from my job to rest, reset and do a juice fast to hopefully jumpstart my way to health again. I thought that I would just spontaneously explore the idea on my canvas while recording it. My friend needed a Dogsitter at his house, so I thought it was convenient to record my class there, since I would have all this time on my hands. Well, I didn’t realize that the lighting for my camera was not going to work, so the recording didn’t come out good at all.
Although I did enjoy creating the painting and it changed many times, here are the few versions of it.

As you can see, she has changed many times, but still it seamed like it wasn’t telling the story I wanted to tell. And then I happened to browse through some of my journals, and there she was. I painted her long time ago, and forgotten about her. All I had to do is to recreate her on a canvas and record the whole process.
This time my lighting was good and I had all the supplies I needed, and I got my lesson.

And so she became My Body is My Temple.
If you would like to follow my process, she will be part of a yearly online course PYH+S2026 with teachers all over the world, demonstrating their techniques. You can sign up for this course in here, and you can also get 25% discount by typing code GIFT25 at the checkout.

Stay Blissful,
